TJ Alumna Featured in St. Louis Art Museum

Rebecca Bodicky '91 is an artist, florist, and founder of Alice Blue Collective. We're excited to hear that she was selected to participate in St. Louis Art Museum's annual Art in Bloom, the museum’s annual celebration of flowers and fine art. Through this program, SLAM commissions the region’s most talented florists to imaginatively interpret pieces from Museum’s collection through floral design. Here's what Rebecca had to say about her work for Art in Bloom:
"My interpretation of Winslow Homer's The Country Schoolhouse was dictated by the muted colors and the children, the old wood, and I was entranced by the pink flowers throughout the painting. I chose a wood box and created two windows in it, through which exists SPRING. Instead of shrinking all the flowers down to fit them into the schoolhouse, I let them stand up for themselves. As this is a loose interpretation, as I used the most beautiful flowers to stand in for the students, the teacher, the color of the walls, the diffused light, and of course the view through the windows."

Congratulations on your beautiful work, Rebecca!
