Choosing an independent school is a significant decision for families—both academically and financially. While all families are expected to contribute towards their child's education, we are committed to making the cost of a TJ education affordable. One-third of our student body receives some level of tuition assistance. 

Deadlines for Tuition Assistance in 2026–2027
Returning families: January 1, 2026
New 9th-grade day families: January 1, 2026
New families: January 13, 2026

Financial Aid Application Process
Families seeking need-based assistance should complete the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) through the School & Student Services (SSS) for Financial Aid System.
  1.  SSS is now accepting applications for the 2025–2026 school year.
  2.  Thomas Jefferson School's school code for the application is 7666.
  3.  The fee of $60 is nonrefundable. Once your PFS is submitted, it cannot be withdrawn from the SSS system.

Tuition for the 2026–2027 school year will be determined at the start of the new calendar year.

The fees listed above do not include travel expenses, weekly allowances, Advanced Placement examinations, SAT or ACT examinations, or college application fees.
