The first high school mediation tournament, held virtually in St. Louis, ended this Saturday. The team—Nathalie Guillossou '23, Maya Albano '22, and Marissa Panethiere '21 (substitute Amelia Qirici '22)—represented TJ well. The team advanced through three rounds of mediation as a mediator, advocate, and client in some tough cases.
The team received oral feedback from local attorneys and judges. Our team received high praise throughout! The team came away from the tournament with some hardware, too.
Maya Albano earned 4th place in the final in the mediator category.
Nathalie Guillossou earned 2nd place in the final in the advocate category.
Marissa Panethiere did not compete but should be commended for her behind-the-scenes efforts to prepare the team for competition.
A special thanks to Amelia Qirici for jumping in to fill a mediation role with little time to prepare. She was a quick study of the material and kept the team in the competition.
