International Student Admissions Process

HIGH EXPECTATIONS | WARM CONNECTIONS

At TJ, we welcome curious, motivated students from around the world. Applying is a big step; we want the process to feel clear and supportive.

What we need from you:
To apply, you’ll complete an SSAT profile (our code is 7660) and submit the application fee ($150), student essays, and parent statement.

We ask for recommendations from your principal or counselor, as well as your current math and English teachers. Your current school should also send us official transcripts, translated into English if necessary.
Because English fluency is important to your academic success, you’ll take either the TOEFL (our code is 7422) or the Duolingo English Test. Both give us a good picture of your skills.

Finally, families provide a brief statement accepting financial responsibility for tuition and expenses and a bank letter confirming available funds.

The next steps:
Once these pieces are in, we’ll invite the student and parents for an interview—usually online for international families. You’ll secure your place with an enrollment agreement and deposit if admitted. At that point, we will issue your I-20 form so you can begin the F-1 visa process.

Deadlines:
  • Application due: Tuesday, January 13, 2026
  • Decision notifications: Friday, March 13, 2026
  • Enrollment agreements due: Friday, April 3, 2026
Applications received after these dates are reviewed on a rolling basis as space allows.

A few tips:
  • Start early so teachers and schools have time to send recommendations and transcripts.
  • Plan for testing and translation needs.
  • Ask us questions. We’re here to help your family through every step.
