Thomas Jefferson School (TJ) is a co-educational, non-sectarian, independent boarding and day school located in suburban St. Louis, Missouri. We educate a diverse and deliberately sized group of academically talented students spanning grades 7-12.
Seventh grader Asha Silva represented the St. Louis Chess Club earlier this month at a special bipartisan Congressional Chess Tournament in Washington DC. U.S. Senators Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., and Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., hosted the tournament in partnership with the Saint Louis Chess Club. The event coincided with the 10th anniversary of a U.S. Senate proclamation naming St. Louis the Chess Capital of the U.S. Asha was one of eight students invited to participate in the tournament—congratulations!
Rebecca Bodicky '91 is an artist, florist, and founder of Alice Blue Collective. We're excited to hear that she was selected to participate in St. Louis Art Museum's annual Art in Bloom, the museum’s annual celebration of flowers and fine art. Through this program, SLAM commissions the region’s most talented florists to imaginatively interpret pieces from Museum’s collection through floral design. Here's what Rebecca had to say about her work for Art in Bloom:
We were honored to have Ellie Marshall, reporter for Call Newspapers, as a campus visitor last month. As a South St. Louis County publication, Call Newspapers was interested in learning more about TJ, which has been a striking presence on Lindbergh Boulevard for 78 years now. Many residents want to know the story behind our school, and now they can learn all about us in this lovely article. Check out the story to hear from students and faculty members about what makes TJ so special to them. Click this link to explore.
TJ's very own Dr. Rob Lippert has been nominated by the the St. Louis Theater Critics Circle for his ninth St. Louis Theater Circle Award! This nomination is for Outstanding Set Design in a Musical.
Greta Stucke '26 has been named Southwest Area Chamber of Commerce's Student of the Month for January! Click the link below to learn more about Greta and this exciting achievement.
Last week, members of TJ's faculty, staff, and student body attended the National Association of Independent Schools PoCC (People of Color Conference) and the concurrent SDLC (Student Diversity Leadership Conference). This conference connects educators from around the globe with a shared mission of supporting and uplifting students, staff, and families of color at independent schools and in the greater community.
The best way to get to know TJ is by spending time on campus, meeting our students and experiencing our classes. See our community for yourself at one of our open houses, shadow days, or let us create the perfect visit just for you.
