TJ is just outside St. Louis, a city that gives our students access to much more than what happens on campus.
St. Louis combines the cultural life and resources of a major American city with the ease of a smaller community. Universities, museums, performances, parks, research institutions, professional sports, and historic neighborhoods are all within reach of TJ.
For students, the city becomes part of their education and daily experience. Classes regularly include cultural outings, lectures, field experiences, and visits connected to academic work. Boarding students also become increasingly comfortable navigating a real American city while remaining part of a small residential community.

At TJ, St. Louis is much more than the city beyond campus.
A subject discussed around a seminar table can lead students to a university, museum, performance, garden, lecture, or field experience where they can encounter it in a different way. The city gives teachers opportunities to extend what students are studying without treating a field trip as separate from the academic program.
