Phil Nye is February's Student of the Month
Congratulations to Phil Nye '23 for being chosen as February's Southwest Area Chamber of Commerce Student of the Month!
To be nominated, students must meet the following criteria:
- Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Students should be well-rounded and have outstanding accomplishments in some areas such as academics, sports, clubs, music, and art.
- In addition to school activities, the student’s involvement in the community, including volunteering and community service projects, are important.
Phil is currently a junior at Thomas Jefferson School. He is taking AP English Literature and AP Biology along with Accelerated Italian and Advanced Algebra & Trigonometry. Phil completes his studies with a fine arts course, Practical Music Theory. Phil keeps busy at TJ as Head of Lists and participating in the TJ Music Club. His athletic ability is shared with all three sports that are offered at TJ, soccer, basketball and volleyball. Phil also volunteers in the TJ Mentoring Program. The remainder of his junior year will be focused on his college choices, and a career path with a love for both literature and biology should open many doors for Phil.
