Two TJ Students Named National Merit Semifinalists for 2022

On Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 67th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Landy and Ciaran now have the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $30 million that will be offered next spring.

As juniors, Landy and Ciaran entered the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2020 Preliminary SAT/PSAT, which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists represents less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors and includes the highest-scoring entrants from each state.
