To all visitors:

On behalf of the TJ faculty and staff, welcome to our school! Whether you are a first-time visitor, searching for a boarding school or day school with the highest standards, or an alumnus or other friend who is interested in keeping up with events here, we hope you enjoy perusing our web site and learning more.

I have come to know a great many students in my years at TJ. They are truly diverse and can’t be categorized as any particular “type,” but there is one common denominator—an interest in their own education, and a wish to use their teenage years wisely to get ready for college and adulthood. At the same time, they want a school where they will find friends with the same desire to learn. For many of these kids, TJ becomes a second home.

Every year, we look forward to starting school again, knowing that we have such a remarkable group of young people to work with. The college-placement record they achieve is simply a by-product of their natural ability coupled with the effort they put into learning and growing here. Our role is to give them the best environment for this growth: an unparalleled core curriculum, providing true intellectual depth; varied arts and activities offerings; an emphasis on community and responsibility; and high expectations for our students in every area of school life.
