Welcome from the Board Chair
To all visitors:
May I add my welcome, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, to all who are visiting TJs web site! We are delighted at your interest in our school and hope you find answers to many of your questions here.
Our governance structurethe Board of Trusteesactually represents one of TJs points of uniqueness. Its one of very few schools in the country where senior faculty are all full members of the Board, serving alongside alums, parents of former TJ students, and interested community volunteers. That communicates a strong message about the centrality of academics here, but it also means the faculty are fully invested in the whole operation of the school and that they are absolute partners in matters like strategic planning and fiscal oversight.
What all board members share is an unflinching enthusiasm for TJ, and a firm belief that there is no school that creates a better environment for teens who are ready to use their minds and discover themselves as whole people, fully ready for college and life beyond. My husband and I discovered this through our own childrens experience, and now that they are in graduate school, we see it even more clearly. Thanks again for coming to the web site, and let us hear from you!
Warm regards,
Susan S. Stepleton
